Five Important Things I’ve Learned About Forgiveness | Peter Alessandria | TEDxFranklin
In a world filled with divisiveness, polarization and strife, Peter Alessandria offers a real-world example of the power of forgiveness. By reacting with compassion and understanding rather than anger and vengeance, Peter was able to turn a personal attack against him on social media into a positive experience for both himself and the other person. The five lessons he learned about forgiveness can help foster the peaceful resolution of conflicts between people and even nations. Originally from the New York City area, Peter is an award-winning, internationally-published photographer, author, filmmaker and former entertainment attorney. His book, Be Bigger Than You Think You Are! Overcoming Our Self-Imposed Limits to Have the Life We Want, chronicles his journey from lawyer to photographer and how he overcame his debilitating fear of rejection and self-doubt around being a creative person. Peter has recently returned to his roots as a filmmaker and is writing a screenplay based on a novel entitled, which he plans to direct in the near future. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
